Sowing instructions

 

Sow between February and April on a warm windowsill or propagator by thinly sowing the seed on top of a small seed tray of moist compost; keep the compost moist. When seedlings are large enough to handle transplant 5 cm apart into trays to grow on then plant out after hardening off.

 

Grow and maintenance

 

Plant in full sun in well drained soil; feed moderately and water during dry spells to maintain steady flowering. Deadhead to prolong flowering and space plants about 40 to 50 cm apart for good airflow and bushy growth. Suitable for beds borders and wildlife friendly planting.

 

Uses and benefits

 

Excellent for borders mixed plantings and as long lasting cut flowers. The bold yellow and chocolate blooms attract bees and butterflies and provide strong seasonal colour contrast.
