Rhubarb Victoria Seed - Irish Plants Direct

This early variety is an old favourite.

A green stemmed Rhubarb with long stems that are tinged pinky red at the base.

Easy to grow with a tangy taste excellent for puddings and jams.

Seed Qty 1 gram

Sow May - July

Germination time 7 - 14 days

Loam soil that's neutral

Harvest May - August the following year.

Pick the stalks from late spring by pulling the stems

A good source of vitamin C, A, K

Use for delicious deserts and jams

Soak the seed for 4 hours be sowing.

Sow between May - July into seed trays of moist compost and cover lightly stand outside.

Transplant the seedlings when they are large enough into 7.5cm pots to grow on.

Plant into their final growing position in autumn choosing a sunny well drained site.

Do not pull any stalks the following year but allow it to grow away unchecked.
