Purslane Summer ORGANIC Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This fast-growing salad vegetable has dark green oval leaves with a crunchy texture and slightly spicy flavour.

Pick the leaves when required they can be used like spinach or for salads and stirfries.

Companion Plants Carrot, cabbage, lettuce, beetroot, radish

Pick the leaves as required.

A good source of vitamin A, C, and iron

Use in salads, stir fry, lightly steam

Sow the seed thinly between March - May onto well-drained compost and cover lightly and leave on a sunny window sill or place in a propagator.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into trays spacing 5cm apart or into individual pots or cells.

Alternatively sow outdoors between May - July in a sunny sheltered spot into fertile soil thin the plants to 10cm apart.
