Poppy Tibetan Blue Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This stunning poppy has large vivid blue cup shaped flowers that stand on slender stems above hairy dark green foliage.

They are lovely cottage garden or woodland plant and an excellent addition to the garden.

Sow May - August

Germination 28 - 50 days

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral

Height 80cm

Plant in Partial shade

Flowers May - July the following year

Ideal for beds, borders, cottage, woodland garden or shady border

Cut down in autumn

Also known as Meconopsis

Sow between February - June in to moist ericaceous compost and place on a warm window sill or propagator giving warmth for upto 4 weeks.

If germination has not taken play place the tray in the fridge for two weeks.

Followed by room temperature.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 9cm pots to grow on.

Plant out September to October in their final flowering position.

The young plants may need winter protection.
