Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors from February to April in seed trays or small pots filled with fine compost. Cover seeds lightly with compost and keep them at a temperature of 18-21°C until germination.

 

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and grow them on in a bright, frost-free location. Harden off plants before transplanting outdoors or into a greenhouse after the last frost, spacing them 50-60 cm apart.

 

Provide sturdy supports such as canes or a trellis and regularly pinch out side shoots to encourage upward growth and maximise fruiting. Harvest tomatoes as they ripen on the vine for the best flavour.
