Pitcher Plant Mix Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

These eye catching carnivorous plants in a variety of colours have funnel shaped flowers that attract passing insects with it's sweet scented nectar.

The insects slides down the slippery sides and are unable to get out it then decomposes its prey with enzymes it produces.

Grown as a house plant it will need to be kept moist at all times and kept at a temperature between 0° - 5° during winter.

Grown outside around a pond or in a moist border the plant is hardy to - 20°.

Sow Year round

Germination 7 - 14 days

Grow indoors or in a moist border or around a pond in acid soil.

Plants grown in pots need constant water in a saucer.

Keep the seed in a plastic bag in the fridge for two weeks before sowing.

Sow year round on a warm window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to between 20° - 25°

Sow the seed on top of moist well compost there is no need to cover the seed but covering the seed tray with cling film that has been pierced may be an advantage to retain moisture.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant 5cm apart into trays or pots to grow on.

Do not let the plants dry out.
