Sowing & Growing

When to Sow March to May directly outdoors in prepared seed beds or September for overwintering

Germination 14 to 21 days at 15–20°C

Soil & Position Fertile, well?drained soil; prefers full sun

Height 60–90cm with upright growth

Flowering June to September with abundant lavender?blue blooms

 

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds thinly in shallow drills 1cm deep, spaced 30cm apart in rows. Water gently after sowing. Thin seedlings to 15cm apart once established. Phacelia dislikes transplanting, so sow directly where it is to grow.

 

Grow & Maintenance

Grow in fertile soil with regular watering during dry periods. Phacelia ORGANIC thrives in sunny sites and requires minimal maintenance. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering or allow seed heads to mature for self?seeding. When used as green manure, dig plants into the soil before flowering to improve fertility and structure.
