Oregano Common Herb Seed - Irish Plants Direct

This popular branching perennial herb has aromatic bright green leaves with an abundance of pink flowers during summer.

Ideal for using in a wide range of culinary dishes it's also a medicinal herb that can be used to help relieve coughs, improve gut health and is a powerful antioxidants.

Grow in the vegetable garden or in pots and containers on a sunny patio it could also be used as an ornamental plant in the garden.

Sow January - December

Germination 14 - 21 days

Loam, sandy or chalk soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Harvest the leaves when required

Companion Plants Beans and broccoli

A good source of vitamin B6, C, A, C, E and k

Use in Italian dishes, lamb and tomato dishes.

Sow the seed thinly between January - December into pots on well drained compost and cover lightly, leave on a sunny window sill to use in the kitchen year round.

Alternatively sow outdoors in a sunny sheltered spot into fertile soil in April - May.
