Germination: 10 - 14 days

Soil: Rich, well-drained soil, neutral to slightly acidic

Harvest: August - September

Harvest when bulbs reach their desired size; rich in vitamins C and B6 and antioxidants.

 

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors from January on moist compost, covering lightly with soil. Place in a warm, sunny spot or use a propagator for best results.

 

Transplant seedlings outdoors after the last frost, spacing plants about 20 cm apart in rows 30-45 cm apart to allow for their larger size. Alternatively, sow directly outdoors from April.

 

Onion Globo benefits from regular watering and occasional feeding to maximize bulb size. Harvest once the tops yellow and begin to fall over.
