Nigella Love In A Mist Persian Jewel Mix Seeds

A delightful hardy annual with finely cut feathery foliage and a charming mix of jewel toned blooms in white, pink, lilac, and purple.

 

Each flower appears to float within a delicate green ruff, giving rise to the common name Love- in- a- Mist. As the season progresses, the ornate papery seed pods add further interest, making this variety as valuable for dried arrangements as it is for fresh summer colour.

Sow March to May or August to October directly where they are to flower.

Germination 7–14 days in warm, steady conditions.

Soil and Position Prefers well?drained loam, chalk, or sandy soils; tolerant of acidic, alkaline, or neutral conditions. Best in full sun to partial shade.

Height Approx 45 cm; airy upright habit ideal for borders and cutting gardens.

Flowering July to October with a long season of colour; deadheading prolongs flowering, or allow pods to form for drying.

 

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow thinly 5 mm deep into finely raked, moist soil in spring or autumn. Keep evenly moist until seedlings establish. Thin to 15–30 cm apart depending on desired density. For continuous cut flowers, succession sow every 2–3 weeks through spring.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Grow in full sun to partial shade in free?draining soil. Water regularly while establishing, then moderately thereafter. Plants often self seed if pods are left to ripen, returning naturally in following seasons. Support taller stems in exposed sites if needed.
