Nepeta Catnip Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This long flowering hardy perennial has masses of violet blue flowers that grow above mounds of aromatic grey green foliage.

Also known as catmint this long flowering plant is attractive to a variety of wildlife grow towards the front of a sunny border.

Cats love the foliage.

Cut back after flowering

Sow from March - June on a warm window sill or propagator into trays of moist compost cover with 5mm of sieved compost.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 5cm pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting out can be sown outside from may - June where they are to grow.

Alternatively sow in the border where they are to flower from April gradually thinning the plants to 30cm apart.

The plants will flower the following year.
