Mustard Colour And Bite Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This quick and easy to grow spicy mustard leaf can be picked as baby leaves or left to mature.

Ideal for mixed salads and adding to stirfries.

Grow in pots and containers sowing little and often for a continuous supply.

Loam or sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

Harvest April - October

Companion Plants Beetroot, beans, carrots and radish

Do not plant with cabbage

Pick the leaves when the leaves are a decent size

Use in salads, sandwiches or as a garnish

Sow thinly outdoors under cloches in fertile well drained soil from March onwards, then make successional sowings fortnightly through to August.

Sow in drills 1.5cm deep and 15cm between rows in a sheltered sunny spot lettuce does not grow well in acidic soil.

Salad leaves can also be grown in pots and containers on a window sill or on a sunny patio keep well watered during dry spells.
