Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist, well-drained compost. Do not cover, as lobelia requires light for germination. Maintain temperatures at 18 to 22°C. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 10 to 15 cm apart. Harden off indoor seedlings and plant out after the last frost.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during dry spells and feed lightly with a balanced fertiliser to encourage healthy growth. Pinch back young plants to promote bushiness. Lobelia erinus thrives in cool conditions and requires little maintenance once established.
