Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors: Sow seeds in trays from February to April using fine compost. Cover lightly with soil, keep moist, and maintain a temperature of 15–20°C. Transplant seedlings when they reach pencil thickness, hardening off before planting outdoors.

 

Outdoors: Sow directly in a prepared seedbed from March to May. Thin seedlings as required. Transplant into their final positions in June or July, setting young plants deep into holes to encourage long white stems. Firm gently and water well.
