This compact leek produces long, slender, pale green to white stems with mild, sweet taste, making it perfect for soups, stews, roasting, or fresh cooking.

Indoors: Sow seeds in trays or small pots filled with fine, fertile compost from February to April. Cover lightly, keep soil moist, and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C. Transplant seedlings into larger pots or outdoors after the last frost.

Outdoors: Direct sow in well-prepared, fertile soil from March to May. Space rows 20–25 cm apart and thin seedlings to 10–15 cm apart. Mulch to retain moisture and encourage blanching of stems.

Harvesting: Harvest leeks when stems reach desired size. Porbella’s tender stems and mild flavour make it suitable for fresh eating or cooking.

Leek Porbella RHS is perfect for gardeners seeking an early, compact, and reliable leek variety with excellent flavour. Its uniform growth and RHS recognition make it an outstanding choice for home gardens and allotments.
