Sow February to June indoors in trays or pots or directly outdoors in prepared beds. Germination 14 to 28 days at 18 to 22°C. Soil and Position Free draining sandy soil; prefers full sun. Height 40 to 60 cm with upright habit and violet blue flower spikes. Flowering June to September.

 

Sowing instructions

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist sandy compost. Cover lightly with fine grit or vermiculite. Place in a warm bright position and keep soil just moist. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into individual pots. Harden off before planting outdoors after frost risk has passed.
