Houseleeks Mixed Varieties Seeds

A resilient and sculptural mix of hardy succulents, Houseleeks (Sempervivum) form tight rosettes in a wide range of colours  from silvery green to deep burgundy  with occasional variegation and flushes of pink or bronze.

 

This mix includes a variety of forms and tones, each producing offsets around the mother plant to form spreading mats over time.

 

Perfect for rockeries, green roofs, alpine troughs, and gravel gardens, these drought-tolerant perennials thrive in poor, well-drained soils and full sun.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow on the surface of moist, gritty compost and press in lightly — do not cover. Keep at 15 to 20°C. For improved germination, stratify seeds in the fridge for 4 to 6 weeks before sowing. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle and grow on in small pots before planting out. Space plants 15 to 20 cm apart.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water sparingly and avoid waterlogging. Once established, plants are drought-tolerant and require minimal care. Remove spent flower stalks and divide clumps every few years to maintain vigour. Excellent for green roofs, cracks in walls, and dry containers.
