Sow March to May directly outdoors in prepared beds or under cover for earlier flowering. Germination 10 to 20 days at 18 to 22°C. Soil and Position Light well drained soil; prefers full sun. Height 30 to 45 cm with upright stems and colourful double blooms. Flowering June to September.

 

Sowing instructions

Prepare a fine seed bed in full sun. Sow seeds thinly in drills 0.5 cm deep and 25 cm apart. Thin seedlings to 15 cm spacing once established. Water well after sowing and keep soil evenly moist during dry spells. Helipterum Double Mixed is best grown in borders or cutting gardens.

 

Grow and maintenance

Grow in light soil with regular watering during dry periods. Helipterum Double Mixed thrives in sunny sites and is hardy in summer conditions. Cut flowers just before fully open for drying and hang upside down in a cool airy place.
