Gomphrena Strawberry Fields Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
This easy to grow bushy annual has well branched stems that bear bright red globe shaped flowers with tiny yellow seeds that resemble a strawberry during summer. 
 
Use the flowers in cut or dried flower arrangements they hold there colour well when dried. 
 
They attract a variety of welcome wildlife into the garden.

Sow between March and April in a tray of moist compost covering the seed with finely sieved compost. 
Place on a sunny window sill. 
 
When the plants are large enough to handle pot on into trays spacing 5cm apart or individual pots to grow on. 
 
Gradually harden the plants off and plant out when the risk of frost has passed. 
 
Alternatively sow outside in May 5cm deep into finely raked soil that's been well watered when the seedlings emerge thin to 20cm apart.
 
Cut and hang the flowers upside down to dry when they are open.
