‘Lady Stratheden’ forms compact clumps of scalloped green foliage and flowers prolifically from late spring into early autumn. Its warm colouring and upright habit make it ideal for borders, cottage gardens, and naturalistic planting.

 

This hardy perennial thrives in full sun or partial shade and moist, well drained soil. It attracts bees and butterflies and is excellent for cut flowers and succession planting.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds on the surface of moist compost and press lightly without covering, as light aids germination. Keep at 18 to 22°C until seedlings appear. Transplant into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 30 to 40 cm apart. For best results, sow early and allow plants to establish before flowering the following year.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and mulch in spring. Deadhead to prolong flowering or leave seed heads for winter interest. Divide clumps every 3 to 4 years in spring or autumn. Suitable for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator planting.
