Garlic Chives Chinese Herb Seeds.- Irish Plants Direct

Allium tuberosum Garlic Chives Seeds
Garlic chives are a versatile perennial herb native to Asia, widely used in both the kitchen and ornamental gardens. Unlike common onion chives (Allium schoenoprasum), garlic chives have flat strap like leaves with a delicate garlic flavour. The plants form dense clumps that return year after year, making them a reliable and low?maintenance addition to the herb garden.
In summer, garlic chives produce clusters of star shaped white flowers that are edible and highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. The flowers can also be dried for arrangements, adding ornamental value. Both the leaves and flowers are edible, while the small bulbs can be used like mild shallots.
