Gaillardia Double Mixed Seeds

A dazzling and long flowering annual with fully double daisy like blooms in a bold mix of red, orange, and yellow. ‘Double Mixed’ forms bushy, upright plants with grey green foliage and produces masses of vibrant flowers from early summer into autumn.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds on the surface of moist compost and press lightly without covering, as light aids germination. Keep at 18 to 22°C until seedlings appear. Transplant into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 30 to 40 cm apart. Gaillardia prefers poor soils and minimal feeding.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water during dry spells until established, then reduce watering. Deadhead to prolong flowering or allow to self-seed lightly. Suitable for borders, wildflower gardens, and pollinator planting. Remove spent plants at season’s end or leave seed heads for wildlife interest.
