Echinacea ORGANIC Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This tall hardy perennial has large daisy like flowers with downward facing light purple petals with a brown conical cone.

An eye catching plant for towards the back of a sunny border looks very effective grown in drifts.

An excellent plant for attracting a host of wildlife into the garden.

Sow March - July

Germination time 14- 28 days.

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Ideal for beds, borders, cottage, wildflower, cut flower

Cut to round level after flowering

Sow between March - April on a warm window sill or propagator into trays of moist compost cover with 5mm of sieved compost.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant to 5cm apart into trays or small pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.

Alternatively sow outside in a weed free seed bed between May - July.

When the plants are large enough to handle plant into the garden border where they are to grow around 40cm apart to flower the following year.
