Cup And Saucer Vine Mixed Seeds

A fast growing climber with exotic bell shaped flowers that open pale green or cream and deepen to violet as they mature.

 

Cup and Saucer Vine Mixed produces large 6 to 8 cm blooms with prominent stamens and flared calyces that resemble a teacup and saucer. The lush pinnate foliage and twining tendrils quickly cover arches fences and trellises creating a dramatic vertical display.

 

This half hardy annual thrives in full sun and fertile well drained soil. It flowers from midsummer to autumn and is a magnet for bees and other pollinators. Ideal for sheltered gardens and vertical accents it brings a tropical feel to summer borders and outdoor living spaces.

Sowing Instructions

 

Soak seeds in warm water for 2 to 4 hours before sowing. Sow flat on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 18 to 22°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination may take 2 to 4 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost in a sheltered sunny position with support.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Provide strong vertical support such as trellis netting or arches. Water regularly and feed monthly with a high potash fertiliser once flowering begins. Deadhead to prolong blooming. In mild areas plants may overwinter with protection or self seed. Suitable for containers walls and vertical displays.
