Crown Daisy Mixed Seeds

A radiant and long flowering annual with double and semi double daisy shaped blooms in bright yellow and creamy white.

 

Crown Daisy Mixed produces masses of cheerful flowers on branching stems above finely divided green foliage. The upright habit and bold colouring make it ideal for borders containers and cut flower arrangements.

 

It thrives in full sun and well drained soil and is suitable for wildlife gardens cottage borders and summer displays. The blooms attract bees butterflies and hoverflies.

Sow March to May direct or indoors from February

Germination 7 to 14 days at 15 to 20°C

Soil and Position Free draining fertile soil in full sun

Height/Spread 80 to 100 cm tall, 30 to 50 cm spread

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 15 to 20°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 30 to 50 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Crown Daisy prefers full sun and tolerates light drought once established. Suitable for borders containers and wildlife schemes.
