Courgette Partenon F1 ORGANIC Seeds- Irish Plants Direct

This highly productive courgette has excellent crops of dark green tasty fruits pick regularly to encourage new crops.

An excellent variety for early or late production as it tolerates poorer weather and low light levels and doesn't require pollinators.

The flowers are also edible.

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral

Harvest July - October

Companion Plants Beans, radish, beetroot, peas, parsley and peppers

Do not plant with potatoes

Harvest when the fruits are and 10cm long cutting with a sharp knife

A good source of vitamin A, C and E

Use for Baking, grilling, roasting and stir-frys

Apply a liquid fertiliser evert two weeks when the first flowers appear.

Sow indoors from March to April into 9cm pots sow two seeds by planting on their side 2.5cm deep and cover with compost.

Place on a sunny window sill, warm greenhouse or propagator to germinate.

Remove the weaker plant and grow on the stronger plant when the roots are visible at the bottom of the pot transplant into a larger pot to grow on.

Harden off and when the danger of frost has passed plant outside into a sunny spot, or grow on in the greenhouse or tunnel in a humus rich border or grow bag.

Alternatively sow outside in May where they are to grow.
