Cosmos Dwarf Candyfloss Mixed Seeds

Cosmos Dwarf Candyfloss Mixed is a delightful half-hardy annual bred for smaller spaces. Unlike taller cosmos, this dwarf strain forms neat, bushy plants topped with a profusion of daisy-like flowers in soft pastel shades. Its finely cut, feathery foliage adds lightness and texture, while the long flowering season ensures continuous colour from midsummer into autumn.

 

Highly attractive to bees and butterflies, this variety is ideal for edging, patio pots, and cottage-style displays.

Sow: March – May (indoors or direct)

Germination: 7 – 14 days at 15–20°C

Soil: Well-drained; loam, chalk, or sandy; neutral to slightly alkaline

Height: 25 – 45 cm (dwarf habit)

Companion Plants: Zinnia, calendula, salvia

Avoid Planting With: Shade-loving or moisture-demanding plants

 

 

Sow indoors from March to May in trays or pots of moist compost, covering lightly. Maintain 15–20°C for germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 20–30 cm apart. Harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost.

 

Alternatively, sow directly outdoors once soil has warmed. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Plants are drought-tolerant once established and thrive in full sun.
