Cosmos Brightness Mixed is a half-hardy annual that bursts into a dazzling display of warm-toned flowers from midsummer to autumn. With finely divided, fern like foliage and semi-double blooms in fiery shades, it adds vibrant energy to borders, containers, and hanging baskets.

 

This dwarf strain reaches just 30 cm in height, making it ideal for front of border planting and small-space gardens. The nectar rich flowers attract bees and butterflies, while the plants thrive in poor soils and sunny conditions with minimal care.

Sow seeds indoors from March to May in trays or pots filled with moist compost. Cover lightly and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C. Germination typically takes 7–14 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on. Harden off and plant out after the last frost, spacing 20–30 cm apart in full sun.

 

Alternatively, sow directly outdoors once soil has warmed. Water moderately and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Suitable for containers, window boxes, and wildlife friendly gardens.
