Broccoli Sprouting Early Purple (Brassica oleracea var. italica) is a hardy, reliable variety producing slender purple spears with excellent flavour and nutritional value.
 
Bred for early cropping, it’s ideal for overwintering and spring harvests perfect for raised beds, allotments, and cool-season gardens.

Sowing Instructions
 
Outdoors:
Sow seeds 1 cm deep in prepared beds from April to May or July to August for overwintering. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 45 cm apart in rows 60 cm apart. Water regularly and mulch to retain moisture.
 
Growing On:
Protect young plants from cabbage root fly and caterpillars. Harvest spears when they are 10–15 cm long and before flower buds open. Cut regularly to encourage further cropping.
