Broccoli Fiolaro ORGANIC Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This autumn harvesting variety is originally from Italy.

It doesn't produce a central stem but tender side shoots that can harvested along with the leaves.

The flavour leans towards a sweet and spicy taste.

An excellent source of vitamins and antioxidants.

Sow July - August

Germination 7 - 14 days

Loam, clay, sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

Harvest September - November

Companion Plants All brassicas, beetroot, carrots, onions, rosemary, sage, mint, marigolds, calendula

Do not plant with strawberries.

Harvest during Autumn

A good source of Vitamin A, C and iron

Use for Boiling and steaming, raw in salads.

Brassicas require a fertile well drained soil in partial shade that has been well dug in autumn they do not grow well in acidic soil so adding lime to the soil may be necessary.

Sow outdoors between July - August in drills 1.50cm deep thin the seedlings eventually spacing the plants 45cm apart and 60 - 70cm between rows.

Keep well watered during warm weather.
