Coreopsis Mix Seeds

A bright free flowering annual producing masses of yellow red and mahogany bicolour blooms that bring long lasting colour to summer borders.

 

Coreopsis Mix is a cheerful annual known for its abundant daisy like flowers which appear in warm shades of golden yellow deep red and rich mahogany creating a lively display through the height of summer.

 

Plants grow quickly from seed forming branching upright stems that carry dozens of blooms at a time making them ideal for filling gaps and adding movement and colour to mixed borders.

 

The flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators and continue to appear from early summer into autumn especially when deadheaded regularly.

 

This mix thrives in full sun and well drained soil and is well suited to naturalistic plantings cottage gardens and wildflower style displays where it brings a relaxed meadow like feel.

 

Although technically perennial in mild climates it is best grown as an annual in cooler regions where it flowers reliably from seed in its first season.

Sow indoors March to April or outdoors April to June 

Germination 10 to 20 days at 15 to 20 C

Grow in free draining soil in full sun

Height 60 to 100 cm depending on mix

Spread 25 to 40 cm

Sowing instructions

Sow thinly on the surface of moist fine compost and cover lightly

Keep evenly moist until seedlings appear then prick out and grow on in bright conditions before planting out after frost

Deadhead regularly to extend flowering

Water during prolonged dry spells

Support may be helpful in exposed sites due to tall stems
