Coleus Flame Dancers is a half hardy perennial often grown as an annual for its dazzling mix of velvety leaves in reds, pinks, greens, and purples. Bred for bold contrast and compact growth, it adds long lasting colour to shaded beds, patio pots, and indoor arrangements.

 

The foliage forms neat mounds with serrated edges and vivid veining, offering season long interest without reliance on flowers. Easy to grow and adaptable, this variety thrives in part shade and can be overwintered indoors as a houseplant.

Sow seeds indoors from February to April on a warm windowsill or in a propagator. Sow thinly on moist compost and cover lightly. Maintain a temperature of 18–21°C for germination, which typically takes 14–28 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into trays spaced 5 cm apart or small pots. Grow on in bright, indirect light and harden off before planting out after the last frost. Space plants 20–30 cm apart in part shade.

 

Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushiness. Suitable for year round indoor cultivation.
