Choy Sum Seed - Irish Plants Direct
 
A fast growing Asian green grown for its tender stems, leaves, and edible flower buds.
 
Brassica rapa var. parachinensis ‘Choy Sum’ produces upright plants with glossy green leaves, crisp stems, and clusters of small yellow flowers.
 
Harvested young, the whole plant is edible and prized for its sweet, mild flavour. Popular in stir-fries, soups, and steamed dishes, it is a staple of Asian cuisine and highly nutritious, rich in vitamins A and C, calcium, and iron

Sowing Instructions
Sow seeds thinly in shallow drills 1 cm deep, spacing rows 20 cm apart. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Thin seedlings to 10 to 15 cm apart when large enough to handle. For a continuous supply, sowings can be staggered every 2 to 3 weeks
 
Grow and Maintenance
Water regularly during dry spells to encourage tender growth. Brassica rapa var. parachinensis thrives in cool conditions and benefits from successional sowing. Harvest when plants are young and tender, before flower buds fully open. Pick whole plants or cut stems to encourage regrowth
