Chives Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This easy to grow perennial herb has a mild onion flavour.

The leaves make a great garnish and the beautiful pink flowers that bloom during summer are also edible.

These are an excellent companion plant for many vegetables and will also attract valuable wildlife into the garden.

Can be grown year round inside as a kitchen herb on a sunny window sill.

Chives need well drained fertile soil in a sunny spot they are ideal for the window sill, containers and borders the attractive pink flowers are also edible.

The seed can be sown into pots on a sunny window sill any time of the year by sowing thinly into pots covering with a fine layer of compost.

Sow outdoors when the risk of frost has passed sowing thinly 1cm deep into drills 30cm apart.
