Chilli Pepper Poseidon Seed

A vigorous and early maturing chilli pepper variety, Poseidon is well adapted to shorter growing seasons and cooler climates.

 

The plants are compact yet highly productive, typically producing 20 to 25 fruits per plant. The peppers are elongated and tapered, resembling small horns, and ripen from green through light red to a deep glossy red.

 

The flavour is hot and aromatic, making Poseidon an excellent choice for those who enjoy chillies with both heat and versatility. Fruits can be harvested green or fully red, and are suitable for fresh use, drying, or preserving whole.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors in pots or trays of moist compost, covering lightly with vermiculite. Maintain a steady 22–25°C until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots once large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after the last frost, spacing 40 cm apart.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly and feed with a high potash fertiliser once flowering begins.

Support plants if heavily laden with fruit.

Harvest peppers at any stage of ripening; green fruits are suitable for drying, while red fruits are ideal for fresh use or preserving.
