Chilli Pepper Hot Tabasco Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

A legendary variety with upright fruits and tangy heat, famously used in the iconic Tabasco sauce.

Chilli Pepper Hot Tabasco is a compact, bushy plant that produces masses of slender, upright chillies ripening from pale green to bright red. Native to Mexico and widely cultivated for its culinary punch, this variety delivers a Scoville rating of 30,000–50,000 and a sharp, vinegary heat ideal for sauces, pickling, and spicy condiments.

The fruits grow in vertical clusters, making harvesting easy and ornamental. With strong vigour and continuous fruiting, Tabasco thrives in warm, sunny conditions and is well-suited to greenhouse growing or sheltered patios.

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on in a warm, bright location.

Harden off and plant out after the last frost into containers, greenhouse beds, or sheltered borders, spacing 40 cm apart. Water regularly and feed with a high-potash fertiliser once flowering begins. Harvest fruits when fully coloured and firm, typically from July to October.
