Chilli Pepper Hot Havana Gold is a compact, high yielding variety that produces slender, golden orange fruits with a distinctive citrusy aroma and intense heat. Originating from the Caribbean, this habanero type chilli offers a Scoville rating of 100,000–350,000, delivering a bold kick balanced by its fruity undertones.

 

The thin skinned chillies ripen early and are ideal for slicing raw, garnishing spicy dishes, or crafting homemade hot sauces. With its ornamental appeal and culinary versatility, Havana Gold is a favourite for greenhouse growers and patio gardeners alike.

Sow seeds indoors from February to April in trays or pots filled with moist, free-draining compost. Cover lightly and maintain a temperature of 20–25°C. Germination typically takes 7–14 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on in a warm, bright location.

 

Harden off and plant out after the last frost into containers, greenhouse beds, or sheltered borders, spacing 40 cm apart. Water regularly and feed with a high-potash fertiliser once flowering begins. Harvest fruits when fully coloured and firm, typically from July to October.
