Chilli Pepper Habanero Mix Seed

This blend typically includes red, orange, yellow, chocolate, and lemon types, each with the distinctive fruity aroma and searing heat that habaneros are famous for. Compact yet productive plants yield dozens of lantern shaped fruits through the summer and autumn.

 

The heat level ranges from 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville units, making them significantly hotter than jalapeños but with a unique tropical flavour often described as citrusy, floral, and slightly smoky.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors in pots or trays of moist compost, covering lightly with vermiculite. Keep at a steady 22–28°C until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots once large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after the last frost, spacing 40 cm apart.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly and feed with a high potash fertiliser once flowering begins. Support plants if heavily laden with fruit. Pick peppers regularly to encourage further cropping. Fruits can be harvested at any stage of ripening, though flavour and heat intensify as they mature.
