Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds directly outdoors from late April to June in well-prepared soil, once the risk of frost has passed. Make 2 cm deep holes, spacing them 60 cm apart, and sow 2-3 seeds per hole. Thin to the strongest seedling as they grow.

 

For an earlier start, sow seeds indoors in pots filled with moist compost from March to April. Keep pots at a temperature of 18-21°C. Transplant seedlings outdoors after the last frost, spacing plants 60 cm apart and providing support if grown vertically.

 

Harvest cucumbers regularly when fruits are 15-20 cm long for the best flavour and to encourage continued production.
