Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds on the surface of moist, well-drained compost and lightly cover with vermiculite or fine soil. Maintain warmth at 15–20°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination may take 2–4 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost, spacing 30–40 cm apart. For overwintering, sow in early autumn and protect young plants in a cold frame.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Cut back in autumn and mulch lightly in colder regions. Suitable for borders, wildlife gardens, and cutting beds. May self-seed in favourable conditions.
