Carrot Paris Market 5 Atlas Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This fast maturing carrot has smooth round bite sized roots that are bright orange in colour with a crispy texture.

They are perfect for growing in containers and planters if space is an issue.

Loam - chalk or clay soil that's alkaline, acidic or neutral

Companion Plants Leeks, onions, parsley, radish, tomato, lettuce and marigolds

Do not plant with kohl rabi, parsnip or fennel

Pull up the small carrots from June onwards

Use for Boiling, steaming or using raw in salad

A handy tip thin the carrots in the evening after watering to try and avoid the carrot root fly.

Carrots need a firm fertile soil that's not been manure in the last year. Dig the ground in autumn and apply a general fertiliser two weeks before sowing.

Water well during dry weather and try to thin in the evening to avoid the carrot root fly.

This variety will tolerate a clay soil or shallow or stony ground. It's great for container growing.

Sow from March onwards under cloches to harvest an early crop in June and successional sowings through to August. The seed is extremely small but try to sow as thinly as possible in drills 1cm deep and in rows 15cm apart when the seedlings appear thin to around 10cm apart.
