Sowing Instructions

 

Start seeds indoors from March to May for early blooms. Use a fine, well-draining seed compost and gently press the seeds onto the surface. Lightly cover them with compost and keep the soil moist. Maintain a temperature of 18-21°C to encourage germination.

 

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots or directly into the garden after the risk of frost has passed. Space plants about 30-40 cm apart to allow for their upright growth.

 

Sow outdoors between May - July 

 

Canterbury Bells grow best in a sunny or partially shaded spot with moist, well-drained soil. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to prolong blooming and to encourage fresh growth.
