Calendula Touch Of Red Buff Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

 

A beautiful annual flower with two toned apricot coloured petals with a soft red underside and brown tips on the end of each petal.

 

Grow in beds, mixed borders and pots on a sunny patio. 

 

The petals are edible and to salads.

Sow February - May or August - September 

Germination time 10 - 15 days

Sow the seed in a sunny border between March - May or August - September in warm moist soil that has been finely raked where they are to flower.

 

When the seedlings emerge thin them out to achieve spacing the plants 25cm apart.

 

Alternatively sow the indoors between February - April on a sunny window sill thin out the plants when they are large enough to handle into trays or individual pots. Gradually harden off the young plants.

Plant into the garden after the risk of frost has passed.
