Sowing Instructions

 

Sow directly outdoors from March to July once the soil is workable. Prepare a fine seedbed in full sun. Sow seeds 2 cm deep in rows 30 cm apart. Thin seedlings to 10 cm apart to allow roots to grow to full size. Water regularly to keep soil moist, as this helps prevent woody or misshapen roots.

 

For a continuous supply, sow at 2–3 week intervals until mid-summer. Harvest when roots reach medium size for the sweetest flavour, or leave until larger if preferred.
