Description

Beetroot Jolie F1 Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This early to medium variety has rounded uniformed roots with a rich colour and excellent flavour.

Use as baby beets

Stores well after lifting.

Seed Qty 3 grams

Sow April - July

Germination 7 - 21 days

Loam - sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

Harvest July - October

Companion plants Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, French bean, spinach, onion.

Do not plant with runner beans

Harvest baby beets for use in salads or leave to grow on. The young leaves can be used as spinach

A good source of vitamin A, C, and fibre

Use in Salads, raw, boiling

Sow into well raked prepared fertile soil from April.

The drills should be around 2.5 cm deep and well watered sow the seed thinly each drill should be around 30cm apart.

Thin out the seedlings to 15cm to grow on, keeping the plants well watered in warm weather.

Regular sowing will ensure a continuous supply of crops.
