Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds indoors from February to April in seed trays or small pots filled with fine compost. Press seeds lightly into the surface, cover with a thin layer of compost, and keep moist. Maintain a temperature of 18-21°C for optimal germination.

Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle, then harden them off before planting outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 25-30 cm apart in a sunny, sheltered location.

For direct sowing, scatter seeds in well-prepared soil from late April to June, covering lightly and watering gently. Regularly pinch back growing tips to encourage bushier plants and remove flowers to prolong leaf production.

Lettuce Leaf Basil is an excellent choice for fresh garden to table meals, offering a generous harvest of flavourful, tender leaves throughout the season.
