Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors from February to April in pots or seed trays filled with fine compost. Lightly press seeds into the soil, cover with a thin layer of compost, and keep at 20–25°C. Water gently and maintain moisture during germination.

 

Once seedlings have developed two true leaves, transplant them into individual pots and continue growing under warm conditions. Harden off before planting outdoors or in a greenhouse after the last frost, spacing plants 45-60 cm apart in nutrient-rich soil.

 

Stake plants as they grow, and remove any small, excess fruits to encourage larger, high-quality aubergines. Harvest when fruits reach full size and have a glossy, firm texture.
