Sowing Instructions

 

For best results, sow seeds indoors from January to April. Fill seed trays or small pots with fine, moist compost. Scatter seeds thinly on the surface, but do not cover them as they need light to germinate. Maintain a temperature of 18-22°C, keeping the soil consistently moist. Germination may take 14-28 days.

 

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 30-40 cm apart in a partially shaded or shaded location with moist, rich soil.

 

For outdoor sowing, wait until late spring or early summer. Prepare a well-drained but moisture-retentive bed, scatter seeds lightly, and press them into the soil without covering. Water gently and keep the soil consistently moist.
