Aster Ostrich Feather Seeds

Aster Ostrich Feather (Callistephus chinensis) is a flamboyant annual celebrated for its large, semi-double blooms with soft, feathery petals in a rich mix of pink, purple, red, white, and lavender.

 

With its tall stems and graceful flower form, this variety adds texture, height, and vibrant colour to borders, cutting gardens, and late-summer displays.

 

 

Thriving in well-drained, fertile soil, Aster Ostrich Feather flourishes in full sun and produces an abundance of showy blooms from July to October.

Sowing Instructions

Indoors:

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of fine seed compost from February to April. Cover lightly with compost and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Once seedlings are strong enough, prick out into individual pots and grow on until ready to plant outdoors.

 

 

Outdoors:

After the last frost, transplant seedlings into a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil, spacing 30–40 cm apart. Water regularly and deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering.
