A compact and long flowering annual with fully double blooms in soft lilac tones.

 

Dwarf Aster Milady Lilac forms neat bushy plants that produce a profusion of chrysanthemum like flowers from midsummer to autumn. The pastel colouring adds elegance to borders and containers and blends beautifully with silver foliage or deeper toned companions.

 

This easy to grow variety thrives in full sun and well drained soil and is perfect for bedding schemes, patio pots, and cutting gardens. It performs well in both formal and informal settings and is suitable for pollinator-friendly displays.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 18 to 21°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 20 to 30 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Asters prefer full sun and benefit from good air circulation. Suitable for borders containers and cutting gardens.
